The most watchable weather forecast ever. This has received mixed reviews. Pay no attention to the naysayers- it is  a terrific film

Directed by Anthony Maras,this  is a World War II drama regarding the final 72 hours before D-Day. How’s the weather?

Andrew Scott  as Chief Meteorologist Group Captain James Stagg who has to convince Brendan Fraser as Eisenhower that he should postpone D Day Kerry Condon as Eisenhower’s ADC  provides emotional depth  and beauty in a role which remember Susannah York’s in Battle of Britain.

The sub plot of Eisenhower’s angst at the bloodbath of American troops in a botched UK landing rehearsal is well made. The period detail is exact, and lovingly recreated. At just under 2 hours it moves along nicely, taut, tense, but not overblown
