Children’s Poems

Cyril The Seagull

Cyril the seagull swoops and loops

He dives and he dips,

Cyril the seagull likes other people’s chips

Boating lake  in Roath Park, Cardiff

Riding a giant swan

Paddles slapping slowly

Then whirring

Fishermen on the bank

Whispering and conferring

Water splashing cold and sharp

Gripping on the handle oh so tightly

Sweet memory to be remembered nightly

Our giant swan  suddenly stops

 then starts

Meandering about

In mazy motion

Our small park pond an endless ocean

An afternoons dream of magic

But Then we are out of luck

As the park keeper shouts

Come in No 9 your time is up
